Woman, 66, struck by vehicle in Somerton

SOMERTON (WPVI) -- A 66-year-old woman was injured after being struck by a vehicle in Philadelphia's Somerton section.

The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Bustleton and Philmont avenues.

Police say the woman was walking in a crosswalk when she was struck.

She suffered multiple injuries. She was taken to Aria Health/Torresdale in stable condition.

Police say the driver of the striking vehicle stopped nearby.

The accident remains under investigation.
