Lehigh County woman killed in SUV, train crash ID'd

MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. -- Officials have identified the woman who was killed when her vehicle was struck by a train in Lehigh County.

The crash happened just after 7 p.m. Friday on West Main Street at Mill Street in Macungie Township.

Police say 64-year-old Carol Midei was driving her SUV and became disoriented with the area, making a left turn onto the tracks.

That's when her vehicle was hit by the oncoming train.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
