Many folks have loved ones who will be in the path of the hurricane and they are heading to Florida to keep them safe.

Tim from Easton Pa. is a passenger on the last Frontier flight out of Trenton-Mercer Airport heading to Florida.

While others are fleeing the sunshine state to escape hurricane Irma, these folks are heading south in to the storm zone.
"Going to batten down the hatches because my two daughters live in Davenport, so got to take care of them," Tim said.

Judy and Dick Culbert used to live in Bayville, New Jersey and lived through Sandy. They're Florida residents now in Leesburg, They are headed back to ride out the hurricane with a 93-year-old uncle who lives near them.

"We have a bathroom in the middle of the house and I figured we'll just all get in there if it hits. But we have enough time to tape our windows, bring down the shutters and things like that," Judy said.

Dick added, "Do you worry about heading into it? No not a bit not a bit. I'm not worried about anything. I have a good outlook on life so if I die, I die."

Walt Krause of Burlington owns a prefab home 6 miles from Orlando. He'll stay with his daughter during Irma.

"The reason I'm going now is because it was $49 to go now. And if my house blows away, I don't know how I would get there after it's all said and done," Walt said.

Not far from the airport workers at the Ewing Animal Shelter are also packing for a trip, loading this once-empty trailer from Texas with pet supplies, baby items, blankets and water before it heads back. The shelter already has three rescues from the Houston area that were cleared out of shelters there to make room for lost animals after hurricane Harvey.

Elaine Pelte of the Ewing Animal Shelter said, "Supplies that people so desperately need. People pets they all need right now so it feels good to give."
