A pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Ridley Park, Pa.

RIDLEY PARK, Pa. (WPVI) -- An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Ridley Park, Delaware County.

It happened around 11:00 a.m. Friday near the Prospect Park SEPTA station in the 100 block of East Hinkley Avenue.

Authorities say Train 184 was traveling from Washington, D.C. to New York City when it struck the victim.

There were 359 people on the train at the time of the crash. No injuries to the passengers were reported.

The train lost power for a short time.

The passengers were transferred to a SEPTA train and taken to Philadelphia.

Amtrak trains were being allowed to go past the scene at a restricted speed.

Commuters were advised to expect some delays.
