Police say a state trooper stopped an attack at a museum in Oregon.
The trooper shot and killed a man who pulled a knife inside the crowded building Tuesday.
Police say the suspect was holding the knife to a woman's throat and threatening her life.
She escaped with minor injuries after her attacker was shot to death.
Officials say the museum was packed with tourists when this unfolded.
"It's important to note that there were numerous witnesses at the museum. It was a Tuesday afternoon, we had school children present," said John Hummel, Deschutes County District Attorney.
Fortunately, police do not believe the children witnessed any of the shooting.
