The Abington Township Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public's help to identify a man wanted in connection with a bank robbery.

The Abington Township Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public's help to identify a man wanted in connection with a bank robbery.

It happened around 9:03 a.m. Thursday at the BB&T Bank branch, located on the 900 block of Old York Road.

Police say the suspect entered the bank and showed a demand note to a teller.

He then fled with an unknown amount of cash, and was last seen walking northbound on Old York Road toward the parking lot.

A white pickup truck was seen leaving the area soon after, but it is unclear if the vehicle is connected to the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black man, about 44-55 years of age, 6 feet tall, with a dark complexion and a brown beard with coppery/orange streaks. He was seen wearing a navy blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a white baseball cap.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to contact Abington Police at 267-536-1100, option #3 or the FBI at 215-418-4000. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
