Macy's credit card glitch caused by 'overcapacity' on Black Friday
Macy's credit card glitch caused by 'overcapacity' on Black Friday. Alicia Vitarelli reports during Action News at 6 a.m. on November 25, 2017.

Macy's says a glitch in the retailer's credit card system during Black Friday was due to overcapacity.

Registers at Macy's stores and online stopped processing credit cards yesterday afternoon, causing major delays and lines.

The glitch also made it impossible to process some gift card transactions.

Macy's put additional associates in stores to help resolve the long wait times.
