When winter rolls around, we tend to think about snow as the primary form of precipitation.
But there are several ways the moisture can fall from the sky, and whether it comes in the form of rain, snow, sleet and freezing rain all depends on the temperature, or to be more accurate, the different temperatures on the ground and at the various levels of the atmosphere.
