OCEAN CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- The October heat has plenty of people flocking to the shore for one last taste of summer.

Debbie Grigioni, her sister and brother-in-law hit the beach in Ocean City Wednesday, tickled with the blast of Indian summer.

"I want to go back and get an umbrella 'cause I feel like I'm burning and I have block on. So it's warm, it's beautiful," said Grigioni of West Deptford, New Jersey.

"We should have wore our bathing suits, but it felt funny wearing your bathing suit in October," said Susan Penney of Haddon Township, New Jersey, adding she wish she had.

The beach wasn't crowded the way it would be in summer, and the folks who came enjoyed every second of baking in the fall sun.

"We came yesterday, too, I can't lie. Yeah we did. I can't get enough of summer," said Tara Brown of Sewell, New Jersey.

"I'm just kind of holding onto Summer 'cause we know what's coming in a couple months. This is absolutely beautiful, beautiful day," said Brown.

There's a slight chill to the water, but low tide meant it was perfect for the little ones to splash around. They never seem to worry about the ocean temperature, anyway.

"I've been jumping in the leaves a lot," said Pardes Garland of Center City. "It is awesome!"

"I know, it's crazy. I like it though, it's fun," said Jahira Robinson of Somers Point, New Jersey.

Sadly, the warm temperatures will drop by the weekend. But for just a few days, it was like summer again.

"We decided it was gonna be the last warm day of the year, and I just needed one more beach day," said Stacey Henning of Sellersville, Pennsylvania.

This may be the last day you can sit on the beach in a bathing suit, which is why folks who could were definitely taking advantage of it.

"I am so happy to be here, so happy. It feels so good. It's like summer!" said Nancy Sands of Paoli, Pennsylvania.
