VIDEO: Stormy start to holiday weekend
While there was plenty of good weather forecast on the horizon, the July Fourth holiday weekend got off to a stormy start.

VINELAND, N.J. (WPVI) -- While there was plenty of good weather forecast for Saturday and Sunday, the July Fourth holiday weekend got off to a stormy start Friday night.

Sean Whitaker was caught in a hail storm on his way home in Mt. Holly.

He was just one of several Action News viewers who recorded the pounding assault from the sky.

July 1, 2016: Heavy downpours caused flooding on streets in Vineland, N.J.

Jackie Smith took video of her backyard pool getting some ice cubes in Lumberton.

And you could really hear the hail stones dinging off the grill and back deck in Hainesport, Burlington County.

Then there was the flash flooding that followed the downpours. One scene was captured by Tyler Bronn in Vineland.

Vineland seemed to be the epicenter for all of this water.

Action News was in Vineland around 7 p.m. and found stalled cars and high water.

Floodwaters rose so much they came up chest-high on a man in a parking lot on Landis Avenue and Delsea Drive.

Other people made waves as they drove up to the front door of the Sears, which was closed, with water seeping into the building.

A partially-submerged UPS truck wasn't likely to make its deliveries on time Friday night.

And several other vehicles stalled out along Landis Avenue before the waters started to recede.
