Snowfall brings sledders out in Montco: Trish Hartman reports during Action News at 6 p.m. on December 9, 2017.

LOWER MORELAND, Pa. (WPVI) -- Kids told Action News they'd been waiting all day for enough snow to fall so they could come out to Lower Moreland High School.

Dozens of kids gathered outside the school, where a monstrous snow-covered hill was waiting.

"You slide down and you feel all the snow going right at your face ... and it's harsh," said Samuel Puhachevsky of Lower Moreland, Pa.

"I like that you go down the ramp. And you go, "Woo, woo, woo!" and land," said Abigail Puhachevsky.

It's a winter tradition kids and parents come back for every year.

"We were waiting for the snow to accumulate. I told them 4 o'clock is going to be enough to play," said Yafit Hadria.

"We were digging some snow at home and we bought them winter shoes. And they came to try them on!" said Irina Gold.

And as the snow fell, endless trips up and down the hill were made - with a break for an occasional snow angel.

The crowd was full of appreciation for this winter wonderland and for each other.

"It's fun knowing we can sled and other kids don't have the opportunity to because it's really cold here," said Mia Hadria.

"All of them go to the same school so they're friends, they're buddies so they're here hanging out," said Yafit.

Parents we spoke with say this was the perfect way to end the day: a little bit of fun and fresh air after being cooped up inside.

And the best part about this Saturday snow day? Everyone could spend it together!
