VIDEO: Atlantic City ocean is so blue
What a beautiful scene!

ATLANTIC CITY (WPVI) -- What a beautiful scene! Looks like the Bahamas, right?

Well, surprisingly, it's not.

The video above is of the sandy beaches and the tropical blue waters off the coast of Atlantic City through our Sky 6 camera.

The National Weather Service tells Action News that the water is this beautiful blue because of what's known as upwelling, when colder water is pulled up, bringing nutrients to the surface which smaller organisms then eat.

Since there is so much to eat, the micro-organisms are booming, leading to that tropical blue.
