Study: White bread vs. wheat bread
Study: White bread vs. wheat bread. Nydia Han reports during Action News at 9 a.m. on June 11, 2017.

This may come as welcome news to those who don't like the taste of wheat bread.

A study says white bread may be just as healthy as whole wheat.

A new report in the journal 'Cell Metabolism' finds that it all depends on the person.

Researchers asked healthy participants to consume 25% of their calories from bread for one week.

Half only ate white bread, while the other half only ate whole wheat.

After a two week period without bread, the diets were reversed.

What did the study find? There was actually little difference between the two diets.

However, different people have different glycemic responses to eating the same food.

Some had better responses to white bread; others, whole wheat.
