Driver involved in crash with tow truck in Wilmington has died

WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- The driver involved in a crash with a tow truck in Wilmington, Delaware last week has died.

Rodolfo Espinal-Vargas, 42, passed away on July 22nd, police announced on Saturday.

The crash happened on Saturday, July 18th in the 4000 block of New Castle Avenue.

Police say a Honda Accord, driven by Espinal-Vargas, slammed into a stopped tow truck. The driver of the tow truck was stopped to make a left-hand turn.

Investigators say Espinal-Vargas was not wearing a seatbelt.

The tow truck driver was wearing his seatbelt and was not hurt.

The crash remains under investigation.
