PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Whether you're raising a glass or raising your wand, it's going to be a busy weekend in Philadelphia. And local businesses are hoping to cash in.

Spotting a man in a Viking helmet carrying a heavy hammer who then passes it along to a character out of the movie "Blazing Saddles" makes for an unusual Friday.

The Hammer of Glory used to tap kegs was relayed to more than two dozen pubs over 13 hours to mark the start of Philly Beer week.

Philly Beer Week runs June 3-12.

"Philadelphia Beer Week, we define a week as being 10 days," said Mike Scotese, Publican.

This celebration of the brew can entangle you.

When it finally comes to rest Friday night, the hammer will have traveled 42 miles.

The Hammer of Glory not your style. How about Thor's hammer?

Many attend the 2016 Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con dressed to impress.

At the Convention Center, the 16th annual Wizard World Comic Con is underway.

"Wizard World is a celebration of pop culture so it's comics, but it's also movies, television, art, science fiction," said Jerry Milani, Wizard World.

There are artifacts for sale and movie actors to see and hear, and there's always the costumes - call it character watching.

So take your pick this weekend of wizards or beer. Or maybe a little bit of both.
