SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A woman and a cat were rescued from a house fire in Southwest Philadelphia.

Flames started shooting from a home in the 4900 block of Paschall Avenue at 11:15 p.m. Sunday.

The blaze spread to three adjoining homes before crews got the upper hand.

Firefighters were able to rescue one woman and a cat from one of the homes.

Neither was seriously hurt.

One firefighter suffered an unspecified injury and was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.

There was no immediate word what sparked the blaze.
