Woman hurt in house fire in Holmesburg section of Philadelphia

HOLMESBURG (WPVI) -- A woman is hospitalized after fire broke out at a home in the Holmesburg section of Philadelphia.

It happened at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the 4700 block of Meridian Street.

Chopper 6 HD was overhead as firefighters battled the blaze in a 2-story home.

It took them over an hour to get the upper hand.

Rescuers took a woman to Aria-Jefferson Health Torresdale.

She is listed in critical condition.

Fire investigators were working to determine what sparked the blaze.
