GLENSIDE, Pa. (WPVI) -- Police said a taxi company worker shot his boss on Friday afternoon in Glenside, Pa.

The shooting happened around 1:30 p.m. at Montco Suburban Taxi in the 2700 block of Mt. Carmel Avenue.

Police said a dispute over money led to an argument between 45-year-old Alex Kagan, the co-owner of the business, and a driver.

The driver was identified by police Friday night as 33-year-old Ozzie Lou Clark.

"We had a shooting here earlier this afternoon, it was about 1:30 p.m in the afternoon. An employee had a money dispute with the owner, and as a result, he pulled out a gun and shot the owner," said Deputy Chief John Livingood of Abington Township Police.

Police said Kagan was shot once in the chest.

He was rushed to Abington Hospital where he is in stable condition.

"I just spoke with his wife and she said he's in the operating room. They're pumping blood from him, but he's talking," said Roman Barkan, co-owner of Montco Suburban Cab Co.

Barkan said he's relieved his longtime business partner and friend will likely pull through.

Abington police tell Action News Clark was taken into custody by Philadelphia police around 3 p.m. at 72nd and Woodlawn in the city.

Barkan said he doesn't know the driver or the specifics of the dispute over money, but he can't imagine why anyone would want to hurt Kagan - a father of three.

"It makes me very sad. He's not a person to lie or cheat somebody or whatever. He's always honest," said Barkan.

Police said the suspect will face weapons charges in the city and others in Montgomery County.
