PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A massive security response is accompanying Pope's Francis' historic visit to Philadelphia.
Action News spoke one-on-one with the Secret Service's Special Agent in Charge, David Beach. He says 600 people from 71 different agencies are collaborating to ensure that the pope and participants are safe.
Beach tells us, "It is going to be a safe and secure event. People should come and they should enjoy themselves. It is a once in a lifetime event and it is chance for the City of Philadelphia to showcase itself"
Bomb detection devices, canines, and other technology are in place that will help officials screen for not just bombs, but other threats as well.
