Woman killed in apartment fire in Media

MEDIA, Pa. (WPVI) -- A woman was killed in an apartment fire in Media, Delaware County.

The fire broke out around 3:30 a.m. Sunday at a duplex on East Ridge Road near Providence.

Firefighters found the victim in the first-floor apartment.

Officials said two residents and a dog on the second floor managed to escape the flames unharmed.

There is no word yet on the cause.

The victim has not yet been identified.
