18-wheel dump truck overturns in Southwest Philadelphia

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police and firefighters are on the scene of crash involving an overturned 18-wheel dump truck in Southwest Philadelphia.

The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. Monday at Lindbergh Boulevard and Island Avenue.

Video from Chopper 6 showed a large 18-wheel dump truck lying on its side at the intersection.

It was not immediately clear what caused the big rig to overturn, or if anyone was seriously hurt.

The northbound side of Lindbergh Boulevard was completely blocked.

Southbound traffic appeared unaffected.

Police remained on the scene as crews worked to right the vehicle and clear the scene.
