Police identify man whose body washed ashore near former Revel Casino in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- Authorities have identified the man whose body washed ashore in Atlantic City Thursday night.

31-year-old Jeffrey Wilkens of Illinois was found at 8 p.m. by people walking on the beach near the former Revel Casino.

Atlantic City police say Wilkens was first reported missing at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Police and the U.S. Coast Guard had been searching for him.

No further details were given on the circumstances surrounding Wilkens' death.
