ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- Atlantic City Mayor Don Guardian has proposed cutting property taxes by 5 percent.
Mayor Guardian introduced the city's 206 million dollars budget.
It is nearly 36-million dollars less than last year's budget, and is the first since the state took over the city's finances in November.
For homeowners, the property tax break is welcome news.
They haven't had one in 9 years.
On a 141 thousand dollar home, the owner will save 136 dollars.
A public hearing will be held next month before the budget is adopted.
