1 dead in fiery crash on Roosevelt Boulevard

FRANKFORD (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are investigating a fatal crash on Roosevelt Boulevard in Frankford.

The accident occurred around 4:50 a.m. Sunday on the 4600 block of the Boulevard.

Police say a driver lost control and struck a tree on the northbound inner lanes.

The impact ejected the driver from the vehicle and caused the car to burst into flames.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police shut down northbound Roosevelt Boulevard at Adams Avenue shortly after the accident.
