1 dead, several injured in Delaware house fire

FREDERICA, Del. (WPVI) -- One person is dead and five oothers were injured in a house fire in Kent County, Delaware.

It happened around 10:30 a.m. Sunday in the 1900 block of Reynolds Road in Frederica.

Firefighters arrived and found flames shooting from the one-story house.

A number of people were able to escape but suffered injuries.

One person was still inside and had to be pulled from the blaze.

That person was pronounced dead.

Five people were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

The fire caused approximately $50,000 worth of damage.

The cause is under investigation.
