PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- There is no Amtrak train service between New York and Philadelphia, but Amtrak tickets on NJ Transit are being honored.

Wednesday morning, a steady stream of victims from Train 188 came to a Red Cross center set up at Amtrak's 30th Street Station after being released from area hospitals.

They were bandaged, bruised, some with broken bones. And many were still traumatized.

One woman came in a desperate search for her friend.

"All I remember was the train was going really fast on the curve," said Sylvia Yannis. "And then I remember a hit and everything flew all over the place."

"Whole train blacked out... screaming, luggage falling over, people falling over," said Andrew Chang.

Fifteen of Chang's relatives were with him on the train. All are okay.

Miriam Giovanni of Brazil was limping after she got hit by flying luggage. Her daughter broke her leg.

She told us in Spanish and Portuguese her family was spread across the train and she's thankful she found them.

Among those looking to Amtrak to get them to their final destination, Emily Foote. She is looking for her boss and friend.

"We had a work meeting, and she left at 8:46 to get on the 9:00, and her husband... she told him she got on the train," said Foote.

Rachel Jacobs, CEO of Philadelphia-based AppreNet and the mom of a 2-year-old last spoke to her husband.

Family & friends have checked every hospital and continue to call Amtrak's 800 number for concerned relatives.

"I think we're in the 'just try to find her' mode without thinking of the worst case scenario right now," said Foote.

Some trains are still operating out of Amtrak's 30th Street Station, but not the ones to New York.

Passengers are advised to check the railroad's website before heading out.
