Clerk threatened with 2x4 during robbery in West Kensington

Police are looking for a robbery suspect who was caught on surveillance threatening a store clerk with a 2x4 in West Kensington.

WEST KENSINGTON (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect who threatened a store clerk with a 2x4 piece of wood during a robbery in the city's West Kensington section.



Surveillance cameras captured the suspect walking into Lee's Food Cart on the 2400 block of North Front Street 12:35 p.m. on August 3.



He wanders the aisles for a minute before grabbing a 2x4 from near the counter.



The robber then begins swinging the piece of wood at the clerk behind the counter and demanding cash.

He goes behind the counter and grabs an unknown amount of money before fleeing the scene.



There were no injuries reported during the incident.



Police describe the suspect as a black male, 30-years-old with a goatee and medium build. He was wearing a white shirt, blue Jeans, white sneakers, and silver watch on his left wrist.



If you see this suspect do not approach him and contact 911 immediately.
