Coast Guard responds to medical emergency on barge along Delaware River

CAMDEN (WPVI) -- The Coast Guard and other emergency crews responded to a barge along the Delaware River off the coast of Pennsauken Township for a medical emergency.

Crews were called to the vessel around 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Officials say a worker on the barge suffered a medical emergency.

Coast Guard crews were able to rescue the victim.

The victim was taken by boat to Camden and then transported to Cooper University Hospital.

There is no word on the person's condition.
