PHILA (WPVI) -- Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey is enjoying his last weekend on the job.
On Saturday, Ramsey tweeted out a goodbye message.
He thanked the police department and the city, saying it was a pleasure serving as commissioner.
Ramsey has held the position for nearly eight years, just about all of Mayor Michael Nutter's tenure in City Hall.
Jim Kenney is set to be sworn in as mayor on Monday.
Ramsey's First Deputy, Richard Ross, is set to be become the city's new top cop.
Ramsey's retirement becomes effective on January 7th, the anniversary of his swearing-in back in 2008.
