Driver facing DUI charges after striking 16-year-old girl in Lawndale

LAWNDALE (WPVI) -- A driver is facing DUI charges after striking a 16-year-old girl in the Lawndale section of Philadelphia.

It happened around 8 p.m. Thursday at Rising Sun and Bleigh avenues.

Police say the victim suffered a possible concussion and possible broken arm.

She is being treated at Aria-Torresdale Hospital.

The driver, who remained on the scene, was arrested and DUI charges are pending.

Police AID is investigating.
