The customers who were without power have been restored.

WILDWOOD, N.J. -- The customers who were without power following a fire in Wildwood, New Jersey have been restored.



The outages came after a two-alarm fire at a commercial building near the intersection of Park Boulevard and West Oak Avenue.



A spokesman for Atlantic City Electric said that about 1,800 people were without power as a result of a late morning fire, because the electric company proactively cut power during the peak of the fire at the request of the fire department.



The fire was reported around 11 a.m. and was brought under control about an hour later.



There was no word on what what sparked the fire.



No injuries were reported.



The two-alarm fire was reported in a commercial building around 11 a.m. Friday near the intersection of Park Boulevard and West Oak Avenue.
