Fire erupts in Mt. Airy high-rise apartment building

MT. AIRY (WPVI) -- Philadelphia firefighters were called to a fire inside an apartment building high-rise in the Mount Airy section.

The fire was reported at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday at the Emlen Arms apartments in the 6700 block of Emlen Street.

The fire was on the eighth floor of the nine story building.

The view from Chopper 6 HD showed smoke pouring out the building.

There was no word on how the fire started or if anyone was injured.
