NEWTOWN TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Police in Delaware County have filed sex related charges against a former Marple Newtown School District bus driver.

Dunn was formally arraigned on the charges in local district court.

He remains free on $20,000 unsecured bail.

Dunn faces a preliminary hearing on June 11th.

Newtown Township police continue to investigate the case.

The Marple Newtown School District has released the following statement:

The safety of all children entrusted to the District's care is its paramount concern. At the same time, the District must recognize that criminal charges, especially those involving non-work-related conduct, are only allegations and that people who are criminally charged must be presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. In addition, the District must respect the privacy concerns of its employees.

In light of all of these concerns, the District can assure the community that it has taken prompt and appropriate steps to ensure that this particular employee is not performing any functions for the District during the pendency of the criminal charges.
