Landmark Lower Macungie restaurant Buckeye Tavern catches fire

LOWER MACUNGIE, Pa. (WPVI) -- Lehigh County firefighters are battling a blaze at a landmark Lower Macungie restaurant.

The fire broke out shortly after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Buckeye Tavern on the 3700 block of Brookside Road.

Arriving crews reported heavy fire tearing through the two story structure.

There are no reported injuries.

According to the restaurant's website, the Buckeye Tavern opened as an inn and hotel in 1735.
