Man shot during fight in University City

UNIVERSITY CITY (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Police say gunfire struck a man when a large fight broke out in University City.

It happened at 39th and Ludlow Streets after 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say a group of women got into an argument.

Several males got involved, and one fired a gun into the crowd.

One bullet struck the victim in the backside.

Police took him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. The wound was not believed to be life-threatening.

Investigators were working to determine who started the fight and which man fired the weapon.
