PHILADELPHIA -- A Philadelphia police officer has died after a medical emergency while on duty.
Officer Douglas Bamberger suffered a heart attack while at the Criminal Justice Center around 7:40 a.m. Tuesday.
Bamberger was 41 years old and was a 16 year veteran of the force.
He survived by his wife and two children.
A statement released by the Philadelphia Police Dept. reads:
"Commissioner Richard Ross extends his deepest condolences to the family, friends, and Law Enforcement family of Officer Bamberger."
