FALLS TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Authorities in Bucks County have issued a challenge to the person who made an anti-police sign and posted it near a Falls Township business.
A photo of the sign was sent to Action News by the Falls Township Police Department. It reads, "Only good cop is a dead cop."
According to Falls Township Police Lt. Henry Ward, the sign was found at 6 a.m. Monday hanging along Lincoln Highway near Pennsbury Manufacturing.
In a statement Monday night, Ward challenged the person or person to stop into the police department and speak to the officers.
"I know whoever did this did it out of ignorance. I would like to sit down with them and show them what we do as police officers so they can base their opinion on facts and not ignorance. I doubt they will do this because they hung the sign in the middle of the night like a true coward that I think they are," Ward said.
Ward wants the person to prove him wrong and says they might be able to learn something from each other.
"I want to stress this is America and anyone is well within their rights to hold such an opinion, but I find it ironic that whoever did this did it on the anniversary of D-Day, when thousands of young Americans died to make sure an idiot or idiots like this can express their opinions," Ward said.
