Police: Woman shot husband in Somerton

SOMERTON (WPVI) -- Police are investigating after a woman shot her husband in Philadelphia's Somerton section.

It happened around 8:50 p.m. along the 400 block of Jeanes Street.

Police arrived to find a 54-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the right thigh.

He was taken to Holy Redeemer Hospital. No word on his condition.

The woman was taken into custody and the weapon was recovered, police say.

No word if the woman will face charges.
