TRENTON, N.J. (WPVI) -- The Rescue Mission of Trenton announced Sunday it broke the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest collection of clothes for recycle/donation.
With the help of volunteers, local and statewide, the mission was able to exceed their goal and collect a total of 179,550 pounds of clothing.
The previous record was 153,240 items, and was set in August by Comfort and Omo brands of Unilever FZE in the United Arab Emirates.
The collected clothing will be given to homeless clients or sold at the thrift store with profits going back into the rescue mission.
