Search continues for woman taken from New Castle, Del. home

NEW CASTLE, Del. (WPVI) -- Police have issued a "Gold Alert" in their search for a woman who they believe was taken from her residence in New Castle, Delaware on Monday.

33-year-old Nefertiri Trader was last seen at approximately 4:00 p.m. Monday when a witness saw her being forced into her vehicle - a silver 2000 Acura RL with Delaware Registration 404893 - outside her Saddlebrook residence.

Nefertiri's cousin, William Trader, lives in the same house. He tells Action News that Nefertiri's 17-year-old son and younger daughter were in the house Sunday night when the son heard a commotion downstairs. However, when he ventured down to investigate, no one was there.

William tells us, "The whole thing that threw me off when I got off, here was a loaf of bread on the floor, on the ground, and her shoes and a pack of cigarettes was on the porch. And that's just not her. She would call you, like, 'I'm leaving some cigarettes here.' Anything like that. And she didn't call nobody. Her phone was off."

Concerns were heightened after investigators spoke with a neighbor who says he saw Trader outside of her home the morning she disappeared.

Officer 1st Class Tracey Duffy of New Castle County Police explains, "The witness saw her speaking to someone. But they weren't able to tell if it was a male or a female. And then just being forced into her vehicle."

The neighbor says the person who forced Nefertiri into the car had on tan pants and a hooded sweatshirt.

Trader is described as a black female, 5'6'', 124 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
