CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Suburban Station in Center City was evacuated and regional rail service was suspended Sunday morning after a golf cart caught fire.

Heather Redfern of SEPTA told Action News, a SEPTA police golf cart caught fire at the concourse at 15th Street.

"Transit Police concourse cart unattended when it caught fire. Vehicle was used to transport people w/limited mobility. No one was injured," Thomas J. Nestel III, Chief of SEPTA Transit Police, tweeted.

Because of smoke, SEPTA suspended all train service at the station.

Trains were temporarily beginning and ending at Jefferson and 30th Street stations.

Service was restored shortly before 11:00 a.m.

This commuter alert came amid a number of other delays and closures due to icy conditions.
