HAMILTON TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- A garbage truck caught fire, and then exploded, in a Mercer County neighborhood on Tuesday, and a viewer caught the scene on video.
It happened around 2 p.m. on Fitzrandolph Avenue in Hamilton Township.
The workers tried to put out the fire themselves, but the truck, which is powered by natural gas, exploded.
The incident was caught on camera by Action News viewer Cindy Partyka.
No one was hurt.
Police say the fire began after an issue in the truck's battery system.
