LUMBERTON, N.J. (WPVI) -- Authorities say a woman found dead in her Lumberton, New Jersey home was murdered.
The body of 45-year-old Shannon O'Rouke was found Wednesday at her home in the 100 block of Nassau Road.
"The whole road was blocked off and there was just SUVs and detectives and ambulances and EMTs and fire department, and that's not all there for when someone just passes away," neighbor Kendra Hatfield said.
The unit block of Nassau Road in Lumberton was quieter Thursday, with just a trio of investigators.
O'Rouke was found dead in the living room of her house by an acquaintance.
Authorities say it was a homicide, but are not saying how she was killed. Nor will they say if they have identified a suspect.
Neighbors say O'Rouke worked at a local printing company and was a pet sitter.
Shawn and Brianna Claverie, brother and sister, were friends of the victim's niece who often stayed at O'Rouke's house.
"Very nice woman, very kind, very welcoming to anyone who she meets, and just a great friend," Shawn Claverie said.
"I don't see how anyone could try to harm her," Brianna Claverie said.
