Memorial services announced for NJ State Senator Jim Whelan

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- A memorial service for the late New Jersey State Senator Jim Whelan has now been set.

According to Whelan's Facebook page, the family will receive guests beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursday September 14 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

The service will begin at 11:30 a.m.

The popular former mayor of Atlantic City died Tuesday of a heart attack.

Governor Chris Christie has ordered that flags be flown at half staff on the day of his service.
