1 dead following apartment fire in Lehigh County

WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A 50-year-old man is dead following a raging fire in a Lehigh County apartment building.

Chopper 6 was above the scene on the 1300 block of North 13th Street in Whitehall Township around 9:30 p.m. Friday.

Flames could be seen coming from the roof of the building.

The Red Cross is assisting a total of nine people who were displaced from five apartments.

In addition, Red Cross mental health and spiritual care workers are available for those who need counseling after this fatal fire.
