Getting more money for a better education

PHILADELPHIA CITY HALL (WPVI) -- Philadelphia City council has formed a new committee to help secure more funding for public schools.

The Joint Committees on Children and Youth and Education held its first public hearing on the subject Thursday.

Its goal is to study ways to improve education, and how to get more funding to pay for it.

Philadelphia's public schools have been dealing with significant budget cuts in recent years.
