Green space coming to Fishtown

FISHTOWN (WPVI) -- Tuesday crews broke ground on a highly anticipated project in Fishtown.

Renovations are now underway at the Alexander Adaire Schoolyard.

It's currently just bare asphalt..

But it will soon have a playground, benches and a nature trail.

The finished product will provide the neighborhood with more green space.

It will also protect the Delaware River by capturing stormwater on rainy days.
