RHAWNHURST (WPVI) -- It's the first day of school for these students in Philadelphia's Pre-K program.
All classes are now filled to capacity, with 2,000 children enrolled, and another 400 on wait lists.
Mayor Jim Kenney celebrated Wednesday with a visit to a Pre-K in Rhawnhurst.
The city-wide program is funded by the controversial beverage tax.
The beverage industry is currently challenging it in the state supreme court.
