A bench overlooking the lake in Boston Public Garden, famously featured in Good Will Hunting, overnight has become a memorial to the late Robin Williams.
Beginning sometime late last night, and culminating into dozens paying their respects, residents of the Boston area brought flowers, kind words and chalk to a shooting location of the 1998 film. Williams had won his only Academy Award for his portrayal as therapist Sean Maquire, a character that gave him many iconic lines and touching monologues, one of which he delivered on this very bench. Heartbroken over the actor's death, dozens of fans inscribed thoughts of prayer and memorable lines, spoken by Williams in his film roles, on the bench and the sidewalk surrounding it.
Some of the quotes include:
"Carpe Diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary." - Dead Poet's Society.
"Bangarang." - Hook.
"I yam what I yam. I'm Popeye, the sailor man." - Popeye.
"To die would be a great adventure." - Hook.
"You will have bad times, but they will always wake you up to the stuff you weren't paying attention to." - Good Will Hunting.
"Sorry guys, I went to see about a girl." - an iconic line spoken by Will in Good Will Hunting that proved Sean's faith in love had influenced him.
"Your move, chief." - Robin Williams' repeated line in Good Will Hunting, sarcastically referring to Matt Damon's Will.
"You ain't never had a friend like me." - Aladdin.
