White coat ceremony

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- A sea of white coast filled the Crystal Tea room in Center City Friday.

About 270 first year med students from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University took part in the annual white coat ceremony.

It's a tradition that's part of the journey toward becoming a physician.

After putting their coats on for the first time, the students took the Hippocratic Oath, which states the proper conduct for doctors.
